Jerry Phillips, who has been serving as Lay Assistant to Fr. Don Owens at St. Timothy's Church, was ordained as a transitional Deacon for the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana on December 21, 2005.  Many parishioners made the drive to St. Luke's Church in Baton Rouge to share in this seminal event in the ordained life and ministry of now Deacon Jerry Phillips.  Jerry's wife Elizabeth and many family members surrounded him with love and support during both the ordination service and the reception following (pictured here).
